INSULIN SAFETY e-LEARNING

According to the results from the latest National Diabetes Inpatient Audit, two in five people with diabetes on insulin (40 per cent) experience an error related to the administration of the drug while in hospital, with errors also reported in the community setting.

In response, Trend Diabetes has launched the ‘Insulin Safety: Getting it Right’ e-learning module, which is free to access for all hospital and community trusts and Primary Care Networks (PCNs).

Benefits of the new Trend Diabetes Insulin Safety: Getting it Right’ e-learning module:

  • The module can be deployed onto an organisation’s own electronic learning management system (LMS).
  • It is SCORM compliant, which stands for Shareable Content Object Reference Model, which means it meets technical standards for eLearning software products.
  • Learner assessments are included within the module.
  • The module will also be updated as new information is released.
Access the e-learning module

To access this e-learning module, you must also be a member of Trend Diabetes. To download the module and either register or sign in as a TREND member, click on the bottom below.

This is for employing organisations only to upload using a SCORM LMS system and not for individual nurses.

Individual nurses won’t be able to see the slides for this e-learning module after downloading the files, because the module has to be downloaded onto a LMS platform. However, we will have a demonstration version on the website ready for you to view by the end of October.
