This initiative was commissioned by NHS England back in 2020. This initiative enabled a wider group of health and social care staff to be appropriately trained to administer insulin injections to people with diabetes in residential settings.

There are two power point presentations that can aid staff training. These presentations should be delivered by someone with advanced knowledge within diabetes care.
There is an eLearning module within the training package that should be completed by all the learners at the end of the training as an assessment of knowledge gained. On completion and achievement of passing the 80% pass mark for the eLearning module a Certificate will be generated.
